Two-Year Rotational Training
You will have a chance to go behind the scenes and take part in the inception of both drama and non-drama television programmes. From planning to post-production and understanding how television content is transmitted to thousands of audiences in Hong Kong, you will be given a very holistic view on how the television industry function. Besides the production aspect, you will also rotate to other business functions which supports and makes the magic of television happen. You will be given a chance to gain hands-on experience in, but are not limited to, the following business functions:
- Drama & Non Drama
- Production Facilities
- Marketing & Sales
- TVB International
Typical rotation duration ranges from 1 month to 4 months, depending on department nature and requirement.
Fast-track career path is offered to Executive Trainees. Upon completion of the 2 years rotation period, placement decision will be made by taking into account of trainee’s preference and performance during the rotation period.
Trainees will go through a one-week classroom training at the beginning. Assistant General Managers, Controllers and Executives will do a half-day sharing with trainees.
Take Part in Entertainment Industry
Trainees will participate in both Drama and Non-drama Production. They will go through the production process from script writing to filming and editing.
Participate in New TV Development
TVB launched a second platform, myTV SUPER in April 2016. It offers seamless catch-up and a rich content consisting of TVB’s terrestrial and thematic channels, other international brand channels and VOD services. The service has successfully attracted over 2.4 million users in 9 months since its debut. Trainees are able to contribute their ideas in the post-linear TV development.
Marketing & Sales
Trainees will work on Sales Commitment Scheme, Annual Sales Presentation and other sales activities during their placement at Marketing and Sales Department.
TVBI is expanding quickly in South East Asia, Australia, the Middle East and many other places in the world. Trainees will acquire the chance to go on business trips.
Trainees will meet regularly with senior management. They will be trained to think logically at managerial level.
Placement at News Department allows trainees to understand how news is gathered, produced and broadcasted.
