The 14th National Games of the People's Republic of China TVB authorised by CMG to broadcast

(10 September 2021) The 14th National Games of the People’s Republic of China (the National Games), following the Tokyo 2020 Olympics Games and the Paralympic Games, will be held from 15 to 27 September in Shaanxi Province. Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB) has been authorised by China Media Group (CMG) to broadcast the related games and will extend continuous support to Hong Kong athletes with the mass audience.

Mr. Eric Tsang, Deputy General Manager (Non-drama, Music Production & Programme) of TVB today signed a licensing agreement with Mr. Wang Tiegang, Deputy Chief of CMG Asia-Pacific headquarters. Tsang said, “The National Games is a nationwide sports event of the greatest scale and influence. We are pleased to co-operate with CMG, enabling viewers in Hong Kong to watch this sports event.” The quadrennial National Games is organised by the General Administration of Sport of China. This year, athletes from HKSAR will participate in finals of 18 events of the total 35 competition events including archery, athletics, badminton, boxing, canoe (sprint), cycling (road race, track, mountain bike), equestrian (jumping), fencing, golf, gymnastics (rhythmic gymnastics), table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, volleyball (beach volleyball), baseball/softball (baseball), karatedo, sports climbing and wushu (taolu, sanda).

Tsang announced that a one-hour daily event highlight will be broadcast on TVB Finance & Information Channel (Channel 85) from 9pm to 10pm every day during the Games period.  The Opening and Closing Ceremonies will be broadcast live on 15 and 27 September respectively.
